The sweeping political, economic and social changes in North Africa have far-reaching implications for business. Many new opportunities have emerged, offering companies the chance to develop their presence in the region over the medium to long term. At the same time, new challenges have appeared and need to be addressed. Modern risk management can help companies to minimise negative outcomes, while embracing opportunity risk.
The conference is an extension of the annual conference Managing Risk in Africa (www.riskinafrica.de), with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa, which will take place in Frankfurt am Main for the sixth time, in February 2017.
By addressing all aspects of risk in one day, the conference will encourage an integrated approach to risk management. Topics to be covered will include Political and Economic Risk, Entrepreneurial Risk and Business Risk in North Africa.
Additionally the conference will enable networking and a sharing of experience between the participants. A special focus will be given on instruments and expertise available for proper risk-managment. An insight on modern risk management and the best practice will be communicated to companies, government officials and other organisations.
The conference is aimed at enterprises with business interest in North Africa, including companies with subsidiaries on the continent, risk officers, financial officers, strategic planners, business development professionals, business travellers to Africa and companies providing risk management solutions. Additionally we expect guests from different agencies, foundations, ministries, non-governmental organisations and other instituions which are engaged in the region. The event is in particular directed to medium-sized entreprises.
